interlude

Saturday, May 11th, 2013

I don’t usually talk about music on this page but I just came across two fantastic mashup remixes of the Wu Tang Clan by Tom Caruana. The first one has been a bit of a sensation these past few weeks, and pits the Wu Tang against the Beatles. It’s called “Enter the Magical Mystery Chambers”. The second one is called “Black Gold” and features the great Jimi Hendrix.

Both are brilliant, masterfully crafted, and if you’re a fan of either one of these three artists/groups, you can’t miss it. Click on the covers to access the playlists.

the Walkers

The Walkers had a concert at City Hall in Barcelona last March 7th to celebrate the launch of their album “It’s what they sell you”.

I was there and thought it would be a good opportunity to try my hand at pure black and white film, namely Kodak tri-X 400. I used my ever trusty Nikon F5 and Nikkor 35mm f/2.0 prime for the shots, and no flash whatsoever.

The film was pushed to ISO 800 but unfortunately it was impossible to develop pushed so normal 400 was used, and I had to go into Lightroom to “finish the job” so to speak. For a first try, I like the result.
