Refresh, Q1 2017 edition

Tuesday, February 7th, 2017

Following the closure of freylia studios as a commercial entity, is now back online after a slight cleanup.
The homepage remains fairly empty at the moment as I’m not quite decided on what to put on it yet (or even how to call it), but the legacy photo galleries and portfolio have been restored.

Refresh, Q3 2016 edition

Friday, July 8th, 2016

There’s been quite a bit of work behind the scenes these past few weeks and the most visible result is a refresh of the site to reflect this evolution.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about refocusing the core offering of the business, and the natural result to that is a return to only localization and LSP-grade services. As a consequence, a few adjustments were needed:

– First, as of July 1st, photography services are no longer offered. The existing portfolio will remain published for reference, and I don’t exclude the possibility of one-off assignments, but it’s off the list;

– Localization management and consulting are now their own suite of services, to separate them from purely linguistic jobs. Coaching and training programmes are now available;

– A new contact form is now online to facilitate requests and queries from visitors and/or potential clients.

That’s all for the main developments, next will probably be a refresh of this very blog’s looks soon for consistency, and I’m working on an ebook about localization-ready design, of which a free sample will be posted here.

Feel free to comment below, and stay tuned!

I just passed the 10,000 word mark on the current WIP. Yay!

For this occasion, I will share a bit more about it.

In 1938, a French pilot is hired by British MI6 to ferry a scientist from Stockholm to London before his discoveries can be tapped by German intelligence. With hostile forces on their heels and war brewing, will they manage to fly to safety in time?

I plan to hit 60k by the end of November, with a projected final wordcount of maybe 80 to 100… The goal is to finish the first draft by the end of 2015, let it sit for a bit, then start the editing process in February.

Work In Progress

Tuesday, October 6th, 2015

After a long hiatus I have restarted work on two long-term writing projects, the first a SF novel set in the universe that contains the spaceship Freylia, this very website’s namesake,  and the second a historical spy story set in 1938 that I’ve been planning for a good while.

I don’t know yet if I can work on both concurrently,  so I’ll have to commit to one or the other pretty soon I believe. I  have a little over 70k words written on the SF side, significantly more than the other, so that’s that…

We’ll see. I think it’s time for this universe to blossom in full and get to publishing stage.

Some news on the Designs front: I’ve uploaded a few brochures and articles created for Angels One Five, a collective dedicated to the preservation of vintage airplanes and warbirds. Discover the Ryan PT-22 “Recruit” and one of the most iconic flying-boat ever, “Princess of Stars” N9767.

It was time for an update at and I’m happy to say it is now gone live! 🙂

There is now a new “Designs” section featuring some aircraft dream projects of mine that were sleeping in my folders. The recent “Duckmeister” has been moved there and will very likely be joined by more in the future…

The Albums section has also been updated with new photos from 2012 and early 2013, taken in Barcelona as well as Romania, France, and the Czech Republic.

I’m very happy to announce that the redesign of my main website is now complete! 🙂
